Day 1    It shouldn't be on you to choose

It’s day one of the Injustice Advent Calendar and we’re starting with something simple yet shocking.  Rape, assault, theft, land grabs, environmental destruction, slavery and even murder. These are all crimes punishable by law... unless they are caused by a UK-linked business operating abroad. Then, no matter how common these are in the supply chains...   No matter if the business is aware and does nothing...  No matter how much the business profits from people’s suffering...  They won’t face punishment. So there is nothing to stop this from happening again and again.

WE CAN CHANGE THIS

It shouldn’t be the case that this Christmas we can walk into a UK shop and buy a gift that was actually partly made through slavery or child labour... or that destroyed forests to get onto our shelves.   Yes, we should all do our bit to shop responsibly, but products made through harm shouldn't be for sale in the UK. So your first Injustice Advent Calendar action is to join us in calling for a new law which would make businesses responsible for the abuses they commit, forcing them to clean up their supply chains and be accountable to those they have harmed.
