View in browser Dear John, This can't wait – even for a general election. Ocean temperatures have hit record highs. And while it was soggy here in the UK, our planet just had its hottest ever April. The trend of smashed climate records seems relentless. But despite this, the UK government has failed to prepare for the impacts of our climate breaking down. Extreme heat and floods have already hit the UK hard. People most at risk – like those with serious health issues or poor housing – are hit hardest of all. Thanks to supporters like you, we just defeated the government in the High Court over its unlawful plan to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Now it’s time to take legal action over its woeful plan to adapt to the damage it’s too late to stop. And to set the next government on the right course – whoever wins this election. We’ll present our case to the High Court next month. And we need our supporters to rally behind us to help protect our future from climate catastrophe. You can start right now by donating to help power our legal and campaigning work. Earlier this year, the European court ruled that a group of older Swiss women’s human rights were violated by a lack of climate action. The impact of this important climate court case should have a positive influence on our hearing in June.
