The first week of January saw Cornwall get a real soaking again. We remember what it was like when we lived there with the road running with water. The Platt slopes downwards and so the water can drain away but, of course, the soil will remain saturated for sometime. Matt was amazed how wet everything was but we were used to that!
We have now added a little bit extra to the number of the species growing that now includes 3 eating apples, one Crab apple and one plum. All should eventually add a diversity of blooms and fruit. So now with the temperate climate down there they should all thrive. We hope so.
All trees are supported by ties and stakes as it does get windy there. Plastic guards are intended to protect the young tree stems.
