Reflecting on 2023 & Merry Christmas from Protect the Wild 🎄
As we wrap up another year here at Protect the Wild, we want to take a moment to share some of the incredible work and achievements we've accomplished together in 2023. Your unwavering support and dedication have been instrumental in making these initiatives possible.
Campaigning for Change
Our petition to end 'trail hunting' on Ministry of Defence land gained momentum, seeing 25,000 send our open letter and an animation narrated by Chris Packham.
8 Million Views and Counting
Our short animations shedding light on everything from the snares used by the shooting industry to hound shooting have been seen over 8 million times this year!
Undercover investigation
We supported the Hunt Investigation Team to uncover and expose the conditions at the Border Hunt kennels.
A Proper Ban on hunting
We worked with a top legal firm to commission and publish 'The Hunting of Mammals Bill,' advocating for a comprehensive ban on hunting.
Powerful Voices
Dr. Amir Khan lent his voice to our animation on stag hunting, bolstering our Proper Ban on Hunting campaign.
Education
We launched Protectors of the Wild, a free resource boasting over 400 FAQs, empowering everyone to identify and combat wildlife crime.
Spreading Awareness
Our Substack newsletters, launched in July, are now reaching over 900k views every month, fostering awareness and knowledge.
Revealing Truths
Through our series, 'The Secret Monitor,' we provided insights into the world of hunting and shooting, shedding light on often-hidden realities.
Community Support
In September, we aided a community appeal in Saltdean, East Sussex, to secure land for the protection of badgers and other mammals.
Equipment fund launched We launched our Protecting the Wild Equipment Fund in July this year, and thanks to our supporters we've already been able to fund a dozen groups working on the front line protecting wildlife!
Of course, we acknowledge that the journey to protect wildlife from varying forms of persecution still continues. It is your incredible support and the amazing community that we are building which fuels our determination to keep going and do even more for wildlife.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and would like to say a big Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
