Get your greenspace wildflower-ready! View this email in your browser Hi John, There’s a common myth that the end of summer is time to let flowers die back and wait until spring — but the truth is, this is sowing season! That’s right: the end of summer is the time to prepare your garden, balcony, or green space for wildflowers. To enjoy beautiful colours and attract pollinators next year, the time to act is now! John, here’s your end-of-summer wildflower to-do list: ✔️ Buy your wildflower seeds ✔️ Read our guide to sowing wildflowers Shop wildflower seeds Read our guide To bring bees, butterflies and other hard-working pollinators to your green space, here are some of their favourite wildflowers for you to sow: Yellow Rattle Referred to as ‘The Meadow Maker’, this plant helps limit the growth of competing grasses, so more wildflowers can come through. They’re the MVP of wildflowers! Common Poppies These bright red blooms add a pop of colour to any garden, and they bloom in June which helps to bridge the “pollen gap” between spring and summer. Cornflowers With their distinctive blue shade, cornflowers really stand out — their height helps too, as they can grow to 90cm high. Oxeye Daisies Blooming around the summer solstice, this large daisy is a sign that summer is here! Each large flower is actually many — the yellow centre is made up of lots of small flowers.
