Nature Brings So Much Joy.
Make sure future generations can experience it.
Dear *|FNAME|
Today marks the start of Remember A Charity Week - an opportunity to think about the future we want for Cornwall’s nature, and the lasting difference a gift in your Will can make to protect it.
If you’re like me, when you think of Cornwall, you feel it’s so much more than just a place. Perhaps it’s the bracing chill of a sea swim beneath open skies. The quiet satisfaction of reaching the top of a rugged tor. The freedom of racing barefoot across the beach as a child.
These moments stay with us - and a gift in your Will can help ensure future generations experience them too.
As part of Remember a Charity Week, we’re delighted to share a new short film celebrating our connection with nature. It’s a gentle reminder of the simple joy wildlife and wild places bring - and how a gift in your Will can ensure these wonders can be experienced long into the future.

Legacy in action: Windmill Farm
“In the 27 years I’ve worked at Cornwall Wildlife Trust, I’ve seen how gifts in Wills help our reserves to live and thrive. Windmill Farm on the Lizard Peninsula is a perfect example.”
— Callum Deveney, Director of Nature Recovery
Windmill Farm is a unique and historic place. The windmill tower, dating back to the 1600s, stood in ruins for decades. But thanks to a project inspired and supported by one of our members, Cait Hutchings - in memory of her late husband, Stuart, who loved Windmill Farm and the Lizard - the tower was lovingly restored.
When Cait later passed away, she left a gift in her Will to Cornwall Wildlife Trust. That legacy has made a remarkable difference. Today, 17 species of dragonflies and damselflies buzz across 30 newly created ponds. In spring, the dawn chorus fills the air. In winter, you might spot a marsh harrier or short-eared owl sweeping across the reserve.
Cait’s story is a moving reminder of how our personal and shared histories are deeply woven into Cornwall’s wild places - and how gifts in Wills carry that legacy forward.
Don’t have a Will yet? This Remember a Charity Week is the perfect time to create one.
We’ve partnered with Make a Will Online to offer our supporters a safe, convenient way to write or update their Will - at no cost to you.
