FROM NICOLA JACKSON—OF PLANTLIFE—IT’S ALL ABOUT FUNGI

View this email in your browser Donate Join Shop Hi John, Beneath our feet lies an extraordinary hidden kingdom – fungi. Fungi nourish our plants, store carbon in our soils and support the ecosystems we all depend on. Yet, while nature is under increasing pressure, fungi remain one of the most overlooked and underfunded areas in conservation. And we are losing species before we even know they exist. That’s why I’m asking for your help today. Will you donate £20 to help bring fungi out of the shadows and protect this extraordinary kingdom before more species are lost forever? Yes, I will help Scientists estimate there are around 2.5 million species of fungi worldwide, but only a fraction have been identified. At the current rate of discovery, it could take another 1,000 years - or 40 generations - to uncover what remains unknown. The problem is that we don’t have 1,000 years! With habitats disappearing and climate change already reshaping ecosystems around the world, fungi are being lost before we even have the chance to discover, understand or protect them. Donate today to help protect vulnerable species, conserve the habitats they depend on and strengthen the ecosystems that support us all. This is a pivotal moment for fungal conservation. The decisions we make now will determine what we discover, protect and pass on to future generations. We are racing to save a kingdom we barely understand. Please make a donation today and help bring fungi out of the shadows. Donate Thank you for giving fungi a future. Best wishes, Nicola Hutchinson Chief Executive P.S.
