In many dictionaries wildlife is defined as animals that are not domesticated - and plants and fungi are almost always left out. But this year, World Wildlife Day is shining a light on the critical role that plants play with the theme of 'Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods'. We know that life on Earth depends on its extraordinary diversity of plants and fungi - they underpin the health of our environment. They can help us to resolve the climate, ecological and societal challenges which we face. It's clear to see that we all rely so heavily on plants and fungi, perhaps sometimes without realising it. So, we're sure you'll agree that learning more about them is very important.
