FROM PLANTLIFE — SOMETHING JOYOUS TO ACT UPON

Plantlife Newsletter January 2025

Happy New Year John!

After the reflection of December, January is the time for looking ahead, for making changes and for taking action.
Perhaps, like us, you're busy making resolutions. Every year there's a flurry of 'New Year, New You' posts bursting with ideas to boost everything from health and wellness to productivity. But this year we think it's time for a shake up!
Nature is always there for us. Nature lowers our stress levels, helps our mental health, improves our immune systems. Nature gives us life. So this year, let's be there for nature. Check out our nature-filled resolutions and don't miss our video below about the secrets of a winter wildflower.
Sow the Seeds for a Nature-filled 2025
If you love nature just as much as we do, why not try one of these resolutions to forge a deeper nature connection and protect our wild plants and fungi.
Species Focus: Snowdrop

Snowdrops with their slim green leaves and pretty white petals are iconic at a time of year when little else flowers. Snowdrops survive the cold winter months and flower so early, because they grow from bulbs.
The species has long been associated with our cold winter months – the Latin name, Galanthus nivalis, translates as ‘milk flower of the snow.’
Read more about Snowdrops here. Scroll down to the bottom of our species page for some interesting facts. For instance, did you know that one of the regional names of this pretty plant is Dingle-dangle?
