A huge week of leafleting across Somerset!Thousands and thousands of people are reading about our campaign!
What an eventful week it has been in Somerset! Over the past seven days, we distributed 12,637 campaign leaflets, urging the public to support our call for The Newt in Somerset to ban hunts from their land. You might wonder why such a precise number. This is the exact count of households within a six-mile radius of the hotel eligible for the venue’s local discounted membership scheme. Our leaflet drop specifically targeted thousands of local residents who visit The Newt's gardens or are existing members. This effort resulted in an additional thousand signatures on our petition! But we’re not stopping there. Every volunteer who reached out to help with leafleting in Somerset has received their leaflets, and you have been fantastic! In total, over 11,000 leaflets have been sent to supporters for distribution across Somerset, and we love seeing the photos you’re sending in! These leaflets are not only making their way into homes but also appearing on noticeboards! A special shout-out to Gill and her friend for walking 8.5km and distributing over 500 leaflets! Incredible effort!
Our goal is to distribute over 32,000 leaflets across Somerset by the end of this month, reaching more than 1 in 10 homes in the entire county! A huge thank you to each and every one of you for your support. Because of you, many people are now considering the issue of fox hunting and whether they want to support a business that permits hunts on its land. This is a fantastic achievement!
