View this email in your browser Almost 9 years fighting fox hunting It was 23rd May 2015 when I set up what was then 'Keep the Ban' as a pissed off 16 year old. All I had was a Facebook page and zero quid in the bank but I was determined to do something against fox hunting. At the time David Cameron was trying to repeal the Hunting Act and I was enraged at the possibility of it being LEGAL to set a pack of hounds on wild mammals.  Fast forward almost 9 years and whilst the hunts are still at it we have made serious progress in the fight to end fox hunting. Below is an overview of just some of the work we have undertaken in the last 3 years. We have funded and released 3 undercover investigations exposing the lie that is 'trail hunting' and how hunts shoot their hounds. Our animations exposing the cruelest elements of this sick pastime have been seen over 20 million times. We have distributed equipment and fuel money to dozens of groups and activists across the UK. We were instrumental in the campaign to end hunting on National Trust and Forestry England land. We recently produced the most thorough report on hunting with hounds ever conducted. We have taken our campaigns to Parliament and forced politicians to debate our demands. We've written literally hundreds of articles and blogs on the issue of fox hunting. We've created the PTW Support Network in which we offer groups working to protect wildlife an unprecedented level of support and provides otherwise unfunded and unsupported volunteers like hunt monitors with hardware like body-cameras, radios and even drones at no cost to these groups. Now a week hardly goes by without some form of bad press for hunting, several hunts have folded, and many more will soon follow. The Tories have completely ditched attempts to legalise the pastime and now the pro-hunt lobby are desperately trying to ensure the ban we currently have is kept in place. We are making progress even if it sometimes feels slow. The political appetite for legalising fox hunting is dead in the water. More people than ever before are being exposed to what is really going on in the countryside and the 'trail hunt' lies have been destroyed. And now more than ever going into the next election we have an opportunity to finally end this sick activity for good. We are calling on the next Govt to adopt our proper ban on hunting. Our new Bill is far more than just an update of the Hunting Act 2004. It is based on years of campaigning against hunting and the understanding that until the loopholes and exemptions inserted into the Hunting Act are removed and legislation banning hunting is absolutely clear, wildlife will never be safe from the hundreds of packs that still go out thousands of times a year.
