On the 4th of December I sent out a post titled Can you help us build something incredible to protect wildlife?. And I said that “I will be doing everything I can to ensure this community continues to grow and our equipment fund continues to scale month on month.” And I stuck to my word. In fact the support we have received from you has been so strong that we have gone one step further than just growing the equipment fund. Indeed, as you have may have recently seen, we launched the ‘Protecting the Wild Support Network’. The Support Network is a HUGE deal. I cannot understate just how significant a move this is when it comes to supporting direct activism across the UK. Because of several hundred of you chipping in to the pot, the ‘Support Network’ will still provide equipment to groups via the Equipment Fund just as before (it works, we won't be changing that in the foreseeable future), but we are now also offering groups in the support network priority accessto that equipment, more promotion through our social media platforms (over the 2023 Christmas period our messages on social media were viewed over SIX million times alone), and our personal help and supportwhenever we can give it. I am absolutely delighted that we have been able to launch the Support Network because direct action is still the most effective way to protect animals. Whether it be using drones to keep an eye on hunts, physically running in front of hounds, surveying badger setts or monitoring a stag hunt. There are so many brave and determined members of the public taking action into their own hands. And they should never have to stress about the cost of fuel or not having the necessary equipment to stay safe from the often violent individuals they encounter. And so whilst this post is to say thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible (an incredible 655 of you are on paid subs at the time of writing this), I am also asking you to get behind for a few quid a month if you haven’t already. A people powered movement to protect British wildlife. The Support Network could grow into something massive that provides all of the support that groups across the UK need to continue their vital and courageous work. We’re talking drones, radios, cameras, radios, surveillance kit, fuel cards and so much more. It is on us to empower each other to stand in the way of those intent on killing wildlife. And it is on us to sign petitions, share articles, attend demos and do anything and everything we can to change the score. Together we can empower people to protect British wildlife. Rob, Founder & CEO, Protect the Wild We’re so close to £2,000/month! Can you help us get there by the end of this month? Our content is free but if you choose to take out a paid subscription you’ll be helping activists on the ground take direct action to protect wildlife. Every penny we receive tops up our Equipment Fund to support those in the field. Our pot currently stands at £1775/month, can you help us reach our goal of £2,000/month? |
