A PLEA FROM PROTECT THE WILD

When I started all of this at 16, I was just an angry teenager with a mission to make a difference. Now, at 23, it's absurd to think that nearly a third of my life has been spent campaigning to end something so abhorrent. For years, wildlife has been mercilessly slaughtered, but I truly believe that an end is finally in sight. However, I can't do it alone. That's where you come in. Today, we launched our new campaign for a proper ban on hunting. No loopholes, no exemptions. A new law to end all hunting with hounds for good. The current ban on fox hunting simply isn't working. It's a flawed law, sabotaged by pro-hunt MPs, and has not been effective since its implementation. As you well know, week in and week out, the hunts are getting away with killing wildlife, terrorizing the countryside, and even assaulting hunt saboteurs. The cruelty and suffering inflicted by these criminal gangs on horseback knows no bounds, whether it be Mini the cat ripped to pieces on a residential estate, foxes being thrown to hounds, or the stags chased to exhaustion before being shot dead. Enough is enough. We cannot continue to tinker around with a law that has so many issues. Our Hunting of Mammals Bill provides a unique opportunity to finally end all hunting with hounds for good. To make sure this campaign has every chance of success, we are pulling out all the stops to put it in front of MPs and other key decision makers who can help make the "proper ban" a reality. We have already spent a significant amount on the draft legislation, thanks to the incredible work of Advocates for Animals.
