WEEKLY UPDATE FROM PROTECT THE WILD
View this email in your browser
It's been a busy week for Protect the Wild!
Hey everyone,
Welcome to the first edition of out weekly Sunday email! Each week, I'll be sharing key updates on the work we've been doing at Protect the Wild, along with important campaigns and wildlife-related news you might find interesting.
My goal is to keep these emails positive, engaging, and to the point—giving you a quick but meaningful overview of our efforts without cluttering your inbox.
I hope you enjoy this new format! It's our way of keeping you informed about the vital work we’re doing to protect wildlife while making sure these updates are easy to read and access.
Hope you had a great weekend! Here are the latest updates—I hope you enjoy catching up.

Petition hand-in with Oxfordshire Badger Group
I visited Oxford on behalf of PTW to deliver our petition—signed by nearly 7,000 of you—demanding that pro-cull academics step down from DEFRA's so-called "independent" review into badger culling as a solution to bTB. A full write-up of the day will be shared soon.
In other badger news, our government petition to end the cull has now surpassed 64,000 signatures, with 3,000 new signatures in the last week alone—fantastic progress! We're confident we’ll hit the 100,000 target needed to secure a parliamentary debate and keep the pressure on to stop this senseless slaughter of an iconic British species.

Huge milestone passed for our Blood Business website!
Our community-driven, searchable database is designed to provide clear, accessible information on businesses linked to hunting with dogs and/or the shooting of birds and mammals.
Over the past six months, my colleague Charlie has worked tirelessly to expand the site, and thanks to that dedication, BloodBusiness.info now lists over 900 businesses!

New mental health initiative to support activists!
Last week, we finalised plans to fund support sessions for activists through Protect the Wild. I know firsthand how campaigning can take a serious toll on mental health, and the more activists I meet, the clearer it becomes that having a dedicated space for support, guidance, and advice is urgently needed. That’s why I’m incredibly proud to launch this initiative, and I truly hope it will provide vital help to dozens of activists in the months and years ahead.
