Hypocrite:
Prince William issues 'urgent call' to 'make peace with nature'
It is impossible to let this post from Protect the Wild go with out comment from me. It is about Prince William’s ‘urgent call’ to ‘make peace with nature’. The hypocrisy of his comments should not astound anyone for his base line of experience is coming from an institutionalised environment where the hierarchical climate of his life and upbringing divides him and many others from what, I will say, is the real world — our world. I will say that he is ‘institutionalised, by the monarchical and aristocratic life he was born into. Protected by culture and tradition and the underlings that keep this pyramidal system in place. Some of those in the lower echelons are there because it a job that pays the bills. For those higher up in this chain it is about supporting and maintaining who they are. All being normalised by the centuries.
Who rightfully owns Britain is a question they would probably say is — us — those in actual possession in the now and not how they came by it. It was doled out — freebies by a grateful winning victor and shamefully it remains that way.
In Wild Service, chapter two, by Nadia Shaikh she hits the nail right on the head with allowing people ownership of their lives and their own patch of land. A totally different concept to Crownlands, Duchylands and vast tracts controlled by anointed lords. Enough is enough. We are well overdue a change.
Now back to William, Duke of Cornwall, and all the riches that brings which can be read in the post by Protect the Wild of yesterday. My point is simple. He can tell what he considers should be done but what about setting an example of what is needed. Show the world what should be done. No more vast estates over grazed, over shot and entry restricted by game keepers, fences and walls displaying signs “Trespassers will be Prosecuted”! Thats a lie too like his call to want peace with nature. And all of this with birds being shot out of the sky for fun.
